The consultation visit starts with a discussion and ends with answering the question, “Are dental veneers right for you?” If dental veneers are right for you, Dr. Otchere will evaluate if you are ready for the life-changing procedure. Your oral hygiene, your bite, your gums, and your teeth positioning are evaluated to see if you are ready for dental veneers.
We begin with the shade selection. Dr. Otchere will help you in selecting how white/dark you would like your smile. All smiles are carefully characterized to look natural and not fake.
“Before” photos are taken of your full face and close-up pictures of your teeth are taken in our office photo studio with professional cameras.
Your bite is evaluated after you help tap your teeth together on a green pigmented silk paper. Your bite is smoothed and adjusted until your bite is proper, comfortable, and evenly balanced.
Impressions of your teeth and an impression of your bite is then made. Dr. Beryl Otchere uses your impressions to make a model of your teeth so that she can craft your smile by hand. The final smile result is “waxed up” to the ideal, esthetic proportions of perfect teeth.
If your gums are uneven, a gum lift will be completed with the use of a dental laser to create even gum lines to achieve the foundation for a perfectly symmetrical smile. A small amount of anesthetic is required and the healing process is minor due to laser technology.
